Fees & Travel Schedule

Trish requests $150 per day spent away from home including travel time for events where she is allowed to do readings and offer her books for sale (alternative arrangements that include barter can be made for long events). She requests $300 per day for those events where she cannot vend. In return, Trish provides up to two lectures (or one lecture and one panel discussion) per day, advertising for the event on her website and yahoo group, travel announcements to her publishers, a press kit for your promotional purposes, and event announcements on various bulletin boards.

A $150 deposit for first-time appearances is requested within 2 weeks after an appearance is confirmed (this advance fee is waived for gatherings and events with which Trish has already established a working relationship). The deposit is wholly refunded should Trish have to cancel for any reason. Cancellations by event coordinators are NOT refundable.

For presentations done at Neopagan or New Age bookstores or centers, Trish requests 60% of the income generated by the appearance(s) with a guaranteed minimum of $200 per two hour lecture. This can be combined with a book signing and time helping in your store (She’s happy to be there and available to customers throughout business hours). Note that this amount does not include travel time costs. Partial days are negotiable.

Book signings without a presentation can also be set up (daily fee applies) transportation still needs to be arranged and stores should contact distributors and publishers several weeks prior to the event, in order to make sure that they have stock on hand. Books that you cannot obtain can be purchased from Trish if she has them in stock.

Where legally practicable, Trish offers Sacred Stone Oracle Readings in conjunction with signings. The rate is $1 per minute. Reading appointments may be made in advance or on the day of the event. A description of these readings is available upon request for advertising purposes.

These prices are based on day care costs for three children and what she would otherwise earn staying home to write new books, or in writing for secular clients. Note that I will quote a courtesy discount on all fees to those who offer sliding scale fees and scholarships to attendees,

Transportation Costs

All expenses must be covered by the sponsors/organizers of each event, including airfare, taxi fees, and transportation to/from the airport and lodging or the event site. Local airport is Buffalo, NY. Trish is happy to help with fare watching in order to decrease overhead as much as possible. Note that NO airline schedule should be purchased without first confirming it with the author. Anyone who purchases airline tickets without confirmation will be responsible for any change fees generated if the schedule is not acceptable. .

For events within a 6 hour drive from Buffalo, NY, Trish can drive to and from the site Travel costs then becomes gas and food costs. Bedding and shelter will still need to be provided.

Transportation costs can be lowered by co-operating with other festivals and/or stores to send him from event to event; so that each event pays only the leg of the trip. Organizers of medium-to-large festivals may wish to join the PECANWASP e-list (Pagan Event Coordinators Are Networking With Artists, Speakers & Presenters) to discuss such arrangements for Trish and other speakers. This e-list is by invitation only (contact to join) and is full of old wisdom and new ideas.

Food & Beverages

Trish has no allergies and isn’t a picky eater. The only foods on her “no” list are squash, zucchini, mushrooms, eggplant, tofu and liver. Coffee, Pepsi, 100% red grapefruit juice, sparkling water and Sangria are all beverages of the gods and very, very appreciated. Note that being a typical Kitchen Witch, Trish is happy to help prepare or cook meals if her schedule allows.

Lodging

I am not allergic to pets or children, and enjoy staying with local folk who don’t mind taking in a stray author. People think I say this just to be nice … but it helps you out financially and I get to socialize.

For camping events a pop up camper or some type of GOOD bed is necessary due to my back. Also, bedding and other “camping” stuff needs to be provided by the sponsor as it simply doesn’t fit in carry on luggage, not to mention the confused looks generated by toting a lantern to your airline seat.

Vending, Reading, Speaking

Trish pre-ships her books to a point person designated by the sponsor and brings her Stone oracle. She will need you to provide a free vendor’s permit  (if needed) and booth space (at least a 6-8’ table). Note that some type of shelter is also necessary as books don’t take well to rain. Chairs are greatly appreciated.

Getting Her

First-come-first-served, so reserve early! Typically Trish is booked up to six months in advance, sometimes more. So if you think you want her – get out that query email right away.  In case of scheduling conflicts with simultaneous requests, however, priority must be given to the event offering a better financial package, since this is how she supports her family.
